Shoulder Clearance



Stand upright with feet together and arms to sides.


Place right hand on left shoulder and raise right elbow as high as possible. Repeat with left hand on right shoulder.


Identifies impingement pain in the shoulder.


If pain is felt during this movement on either side, score 0 for Shoulder Mobility Test and refer out for orthopedic evaluation.


This test is part of Functional Movement Screening (FMS) performed after Shoulder Mobility Test for shoulder clearance. Shoulder is flexed and internally rotated during test.
